Founded in 2018, Kim Jay Dance Company has quickly become one of Brooklyn’s leading training institutions for young dancers. Now in its 8th season, KJDC is recognized for high-level instruction, a disciplined but supportive culture, and performance opportunities that elevate every dancer’s artistry.
Our faculty is composed entirely of working industry professionals who bring real-world experience from stages, companies, tours, and studios across the country. Their expertise ensures students receive training rooted in technique, integrity, and excellence.
KJDC boasts a celebrated annual recital—known for its Broadway-level production value—and a competitive team that has earned numerous regional and national titles. We pride ourselves on preparing dancers not only to perform, but to excel, lead, and carry themselves with professionalism in and out of the studio.

We put a heavy emphasis on promoting healthy living and academic excellence outside of the studio as well.

Madicyn Chung
Kim Jay Dance Company is proud to recognize Madicyn "Maddie" Chung as our June Dancer of the Month!
Maddie is a true KJDC OG, meaning she was one of the four dancers who helped shape the foundation of our company from the very beginning. Over the years, she has remained dedicated to her craft and is one of the few dancers who has earned a spot on the Company Team every single year since its inception.
At just 14 years old, Maddie balances her commitment to dance with her studies at St. Ann's School, one of New York's top private schools. Her passion, discipline, and determination are evident both inside and outside of the studio. When asked about her inspirations, Maddie speaks highly of both her mother and Ms. Kim. She credits them with helping shape the person and dancer she is today. She admires her mother's strength, support, and encouragement, while Ms. Kim's passion, belief in her dancers, and unwavering dedication have helped ignite a fire within her to pursue her goals with confidence and purpose.
Beyond the stage, Maddie aspires to enter the medical field and one day become an OB-GYN, combining her love for helping others with her strong work ethic and academic drive.
Throughout her years at KJDC, Maddie has graced the stage in numerous solos, duets, and group performances. She especially cherishes dancing alongside her longtime duet partner, Taniece Battle, with whom she has shared countless memories, achievements, and unforgettable performances.
Maddie's impact extends far beyond her dancing. Her leadership shines through in the way she supports and mentors younger dancers, especially the minis and younger members of the studio. Whether helping them learn choreography, offering words of encouragement, or simply leading by example, Maddie consistently demonstrates the qualities of a true role model.
As one of the dancers who has grown up alongside KJDC, Maddie represents the dedication, perseverance, and community spirit that define our studio. Thank you, Maddie, for your commitment, leadership, and passion. We are incredibly proud of all you have accomplished and look forward to watching you continue to grow and achieve great things in the years ahead.
