Founded in 2018, Kim Jay Dance Company has quickly become one of Brooklyn’s leading training institutions for young dancers. Now in its 8th season, KJDC is recognized for high-level instruction, a disciplined but supportive culture, and performance opportunities that elevate every dancer’s artistry.
Our faculty is composed entirely of working industry professionals who bring real-world experience from stages, companies, tours, and studios across the country. Their expertise ensures students receive training rooted in technique, integrity, and excellence.
KJDC boasts a celebrated annual recital—known for its Broadway-level production value—and a competitive team that has earned numerous regional and national titles. We pride ourselves on preparing dancers not only to perform, but to excel, lead, and carry themselves with professionalism in and out of the studio.

We are a community and pay special attention to making sure every single child feels seen and a part of something bigger. We put a heavy emphasis on promoting healthy living and academic excellence outside of the studio as well.

APRIL
DANCER OF THE MONTH
Abrielle LaGuerre, 9 Years Old
Although this is Abrielle’s first official year at KJDC, she has already made a strong impression, earning her the title of April Dancer of the Month. Abrielle truly loves to dance and approaches her training with enthusiasm and determination. She has set clear and achievable goals for herself in ballet, while also working to grow her skills in jazz and acro.
Abrielle is excited to experience her first full season at KJDC, having previously only attended summer camp—and she’s already embracing everything the journey has to offer. Outside of the studio, she enjoys watching Martin and has a natural love for comedy. Her biggest inspiration is her mother, whose hard work continues to motivate her.
When she’s not dancing, Abrielle enjoys a big breakfast and loves macchiatos. She also values the time she spends learning and growing in her classes with Ms. Daraja and Ms. Alivea.
