Founded in 2018, Kim Jay Dance Company has quickly become one of Brooklyn’s leading training institutions for young dancers. Now in its 8th season, KJDC is recognized for high-level instruction, a disciplined but supportive culture, and performance opportunities that elevate every dancer’s artistry.
Our faculty is composed entirely of working industry professionals who bring real-world experience from stages, companies, tours, and studios across the country. Their expertise ensures students receive training rooted in technique, integrity, and excellence.
KJDC boasts a celebrated annual recital—known for its Broadway-level production value—and a competitive team that has earned numerous regional and national titles. We pride ourselves on preparing dancers not only to perform, but to excel, lead, and carry themselves with professionalism in and out of the studio.

We are a community and pay special attention to making sure every single child feels seen and a part of something bigger. We put a heavy emphasis on promoting healthy living and academic excellence outside of the studio as well.

DANCER OF THE MONTH
Truly Escobar, 11 Years old
At 11 years old, Truly Escobar is already a thriving leader at Kim Jay Dance Company, celebrating her fourth season with KJDC. Lyrical sits at the top of her list, followed closely by Acro, Hip-Hop, and Majorette—each style reflecting her versatility and love for movement. Truly has been dancing since she was very little, and her passion shows not only in how she dances, but in how she carries herself.
Beyond the stage, Truly aspires to be a business owner, with dreams of owning her own studio and becoming a true professional in the dance world. Her favorite trait about herself is her leadership, and she takes pride in building community and uplifting those around her at KJDC. Dance runs deep in her family—she shares that everyone in her family danced at one point, including her mother, who was a Stepper.
Bubbly, optimistic, and remarkably mature, Truly understands what it means to persevere through adversity. She also loves YouTube and is a natural storyteller, always finding ways to express herself creatively. For her dedication, heart, and leadership, we are proud to celebrate Truly Escobar as our February 2026 Dancer of the Month.
